June Okafor learned to throw at a community studio in 2015 and rented a corner of a shared kiln for four years before Fennel Row opened on Church Street in 2019. The shop is one room: the wheel and the wedging table at the back, a shelf of finished work at the front, and the kiln in a lean-to behind. Eight pieces are made here, over and over, because eight is the number one person can keep on the shelf.

The shop
The shop is the front room of a converted print shop, with the wheel at the back where the presses used to stand. Shop days the door is open; wheel days it is not, but a knock usually works.
